Before leaving Washington for his Middle East tour, President Obama met with former First Lady Nancy Reagan on Tuesday to sign into law a bipartisan bill to honor her husband, former President Ronald Reagan.
Not able to resist a jab at Republicans, Obama referred to Nancy’s support of stem cell research which is a view not held by a majority of other members of her party. But he came back to the important moment they were both there for by citing our common ties saying that, “the bonds that bring us together are that much stronger” than those which divide Americans.
The Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission will focus on coordinating events to celebrate the 100th birthday of President Ronald Reagan which will happen on February 6, 2011.
